Species number (TNS): 325. Fore wing length: 15–18 mm. Distribution and seasonality: Scattered localities across central Australia, from Broome in Western Australia east to between Barcaldine and the Charleville area in Queensland. Adults have been found in October, January and February. Notable localities: 28 km N. of Tambo (Simon lab and M.S. Moulds). Habitat: Localised in scrubland, poorly known. Calling song and behaviour: High frequency buzzes augmented by rapid wing- movement. Adults sit on the branches of shrubs. Similar species: None; a distinctive cicada.
