Species number (TNS): 842. Fore wing length: 11–15 mm. Distribution and seasonality: From near Alice Springs in the Northern Territory south to the South Australia border and from south of Coober Pedy in South Australia east to Leigh Creek and further south-east to near Broken Hill in New South Wales. Adults have been found from late December to early February. Notable localities: Parachilna and Marree (A. Stolarski). Habitat: Grassland. Calling song and behaviour: A simple repeated four (occasionally five) note call. Adults usually remain sedentary and sit on grass and small herbage. Similar species: None, a distinctive cicada.
